Waynesville Community Salute To Service



WAYNESVILLE, MO - The 399th Army Band Quintet from Fort Leonard Wood opened the ceremony for the Waynesville Community Salute to Service on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. The ceremony celebrates local high school seniors preparing to begin their military service after graduation. This year, 42 area seniors committed to the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Space Force, Coast Guard and National Reserves.


Waynesville R-VI School District Superintendent, Dr. Brian Henry, was joined by keynote speaker, Missouri Governor Michael L. Parson, in recognition of the students. Also in attendance were Major General James Bonner, Commanding General of the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence at Fort Leonard Wood; Major General Levon Cumpton, Adjutant General of the Missouri National Guard; Marine Lieutenant Colonel Richard Johnson; Navy Lieutenant Joshua Lamb; and Air Force Captain Jared Hafich.
